We never take applications and we never ask for your National Insurance number, bank details or documents. If a site claiming to be us asks you for those, it is not us.

Accuracy

Every figure here is taken from a published official source and dated. Even so, guidance changes, sources are sometimes wrong, and we sometimes misread them. Treat what you read here as a guide to what to check, not as the final word.

Where we have not confirmed a figure, we say so rather than printing a number.

Estimates are estimates

Calculator results and eligibility indications are estimates based on the details you enter. They cannot account for your full circumstances, and they are not a decision. Only the body running a scheme can tell you what you will get.

Where to get real advice

If money is tight or a decision has gone against you, free independent advice is available. Citizens Advice, your local council's welfare team, and the advice services run by many charities can look at your actual situation — something no website can do.
