UK Help Finder is an independent website that brings together benefits, grants and help with living costs in England, and shows you where every figure comes from.

What we do

Support in the UK is spread across dozens of schemes run by different bodies: central government, local councils, energy suppliers, charities and trusts. The rules are published, but they are published in many places, in different words, and they change without warning.

We read those sources, record what they say, and write it up in plain English on one site. For every amount or threshold we publish, we store the page we took it from and the date we checked it.

What we are not

We are not a government service. We are not affiliated with GOV.UK, the Department for Work and Pensions, HM Revenue & Customs, the NHS or any local authority, and we are not endorsed by them.

We do not take applications, we do not handle claims, and we never ask you for your National Insurance number, bank details or any document. When you are ready to apply, we send you to the official service that runs the scheme.

We do not give financial or legal advice. What you are entitled to depends on your full circumstances, and only the body running the scheme can decide it.

Who writes this

Pages are written by our editorial team with AI assistance and checked against official sources before publication. We do not invent authors, credentials or expert quotes, and you will not find a stock photograph of someone described as an adviser. How we are funded

The site is free to use. We plan to cover costs with advertising, which is disclosed on our advertising page.
